This reaction about the short story Dead Stars would just be a subset of my whole reaction. I may take a long time imparting the complete reaction I have in mind. Let me start with the fact that I was able to relate with the story. With my past experiences (which aren't something to boast about), the story was able to make me realize that I am not alone in that kind of situation. There were also lessons about life which Dead Stars expressed figuratively, the ones (I think) people who could relate would instantly understand after reading. Literature indeed is timeless. Man would act according to his nature. And through Dead Stars, the past was made known to present, and future would meet past.

Too broad, however after reading the story I think I should be more careful in decision-making. It has been to many experiences. It has been lively yet dramatic. But, I believe that after every dead star is a new born.

The story "Dead Star" by Paz Marquez Benitez makes me realize how important being a responsible person is.At the story, Alfredo is already engaged with Esperanza, so he decided to pursue the wedding even he is not that sure.At their time, if Alfredo doesn't pursue the wedding with Esperanza, it would be the cause of losing his pried and dignity. Its the thing that Alfredo "must do" so he continue it, instead of quiting unto the wedding with Esperanza and be with Julia, he choose to be with the woman whom he proposed and promised a wedding. And this decision seems to be right, because at the later part of the story, Alfredo realizes that he doesn't feel the same with Julia. And this story also shows how to be real person is, because where only human, it is not a crime whenever we fell in love with other, whats wrong is we do not know what "must" we do and how we could solve our problem.Taking responsibility is also showing how dignified person we are, either on our words or action.
